the best trick blizzard ever pulled was tricking a bunch of homophobic gamer dudes into shelling out hundreds of dollars for the collectors’ edition of a game with a lesbian on the box because it came with a statue of a gay man
Noah fence but can ya’ll assholes quit having shit to say about “white gays” whenever any character is announced non-straight?
Literally every fucking LGBT character we have is a massive breakthrough. Quit pretending black, latino, asian, and pacific gays can relate any less to a gay character because of their race or benefit any less from it. Nobody’s got shit like this to say about breakthroughs in the portrayal of mental illness, which afflicts another subset of people that struggle for proper representation in media–even though that, too, is predominantly white these days, if not a lot moreso than LGBT rep.
Maybe let everybody actually celebrate something that gay kids–of any race–can enjoy? Maybe stop trying to shoot down the shit we genuinely are still struggling for so you can play the oppression percentage game?
this is a very cold take op. here’s why.
gays of color will never be able to relate to white gays as much since our experiences are drastically different. we experience racism not just homophobia and some of us transphobia as well and we experience racism in **our** community, the lgbt community. white gays oppress us all the time even though this community was build by the hands of black trans women. we’ve sadly been forgotten by time but we’re starting to be recognized again which is great!!
it’s hard to enjoy media which presents us with white gays. we won’t be able to relate to you the same way. one of the reason is because we know we won’t be the first minority people want to represent. even though you’re gay you’re still white and the people who are in charge are probably also white. do you see what im getting at? the people in charge are putting more white people as a focus in media.
we’re not trying to say who’s most oppressed but if youre gonna ask me i’m gonna say poc. since our people were colonized, inslaved and raped for hundreds of years.
the first thing you’ll see about me is my skin, or my features or my hair. the first thing you’ll notice is me being poc. not gay or nb. thays not what you’ll oppress me for being. you’ll see my poc features and think im less. you won’t know that i’m gay unless i tell you since that’s not a thing you can see. me being an afrolatine person will always be what you see first.
Deku and todorokis friendship is so funny to me like imagine this guy who’s maybe said 5 words all year comes up to you, says he’s gonna kick your fucking ass, accuses you of being somebodies illegitimate child, unloads all his super personal childhood trauma and daddy issues on you, all in like the span of an hour, so then you break your fucking bones to beat some common sense into him. And it works.
What I truly mean: “I need someone to platonically lie across me with their full weight, crushing my body and providing deep pressure until my errant soul is reabsorbed into my flesh. Also, a hug would be nice.”
I’ve had to explain this to people who think it’s weird, but when I add, “You know… like cats…” they seem to understand.
Just finished a session with some first time D&D players and this is the description sheet for a player’s human bard who casts spells by giving informational speeches
Bonus:
another bonus: when the rest of the party went upstairs to get food, ted’s player and I were discussing secrets ted wanted to keep from the party and one of them was “ted’s got no bones”
